SEA’s services, through direct contract, subcontracts or grants, have included technical studies, seminars and workshops to support policy development and scientific consensus; risk communication research; decision protocols; sensitive area mapping; response strategy development; contingency and response plans; training programs; response exercises; ecological risk assessments; engagement and outreach; and technical support for incident management teams. 

Our clients have included the private sector and agencies at the national, regional and state levels, such as the US Coast Guard, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), US Navy, Panama Canal Authority, Canada Dept. of Fisheries and Oceans, State of Louisiana and Pembrokeshire County, Wales, UK. SEA has also provided plans, training, and exercises to utilities and energy companies on the US East Coast.

To help achieve shared understanding and consensus, we have carried out collaborative studies and joint projects funded by the Marine Spill Response Corporation (R&D Program 1990-95), API, NOAA, USCG and EPA, and International Group of Liquefied Natural Gas Importers (GIIGN) https://giignl.org/ . In addition, SEA has received grants from:
